He was 81 years old. Anderson was a professional wrestler in the 1970s and 1980s for several territories of the National Wrestling Alliance, including Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, Georgia Championship Wrestling, and Championship Wrestling from Florida. Local sculptor Jason Kimes will be the speaker at noon Thursday when Lauren Rogers Museum of Art presents ArtTalk. Kimes will discuss the design and fabrication process of his sculptures. He received his bachelor of arts degree in sculpture from The University of Southern Mississippi. His large-scale works have been installed and exhibited across the country, including Eleven, the Deepwater Horizon Memorial. One of his works was also on display in downtown Laurel, off Central Avenue, earlier this year.

Some of country and rock's biggest acts came together to celebrate the life and music of Lynyrd Skynyrd founding member Gary Rossington during the 2023 CMT Music Awards on Sunday night (Apr. 2).
