Anglers, it’s time to practice your casting; trout season is less than a month away! The 2024 Illinois spring trout fishing season starts Saturday, April 6 at 58 ponds, lakes and streams throughout the state. Fishing fans can catch and release at select trout sites, starting Saturday, March 23. No trout may be kept during the catch-and-release period, but anglers can keep trout after the opening of the regular season on April 6.

Police had a busy evening on Saturday (July 28) when nearly 50 Brothers of the Sun Tour concert-goers were either cited or arrested during the Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw concert stop in Indianapolis, Indiana. According to the IndyStar, 32 fans were cited for illegal possession or consumption of alcohol, and eight adults were ticketed for supplying alcohol to minors. An official statement by the Indianapolis police department claims that five minors were also cited for underage consumption.

The businesswoman shared a rare Instagram photo of her partner to celebrate his birthday last week.  “Happiest of birthdays to my incredible husband, Bill!” she captioned the August 17 post. “Your zest for life and unwavering support light up my world every single day. Two juveniles were severely injured early Saturday in a Whiteside County rollover crash, according to a news release from the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office. At 1:30 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies were dispatched to Illinois Route 84 and U. S. 30 for a single-vehicle roll-over crash with injuries. The initial crash investigation determined the vehicle was traveling north on Illinois Route 84 between the Union Pacific railroad tracks and U. S. 30.

Powers Fire & Rescue personnel attended the “Approaching Alzheimer’s - First Responder Education” training class on Tuesday at South Central Place in Laurel. The training was sponsored by South Central Regional Medical Center and EMServ Ambulance Service. The training was conducted by Kristen White, who is the program manager for the Mississippi Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. First-responders were provided with training on how to recognize the 10 early warning signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s or other dementia.

Garth Brooks frequently collaborates with his wife Trisha Yearwood, but many fans might not know that he co-wrote one of his biggest hits with his first wife, Sandy Mahl. Brooks collaborated with Mahl on "That Summer," but only after the original idea that he had started with songwriter Pat Alger didn't quite pan out.
