Lady A's Charles Kelley is on the other side of a hard battle with alcohol abuse these days, but a mere nine months ago, the fight was just starting. In August of 2022, Kelley entered treatment for an alcohol abuse problem, and in a vulnerable new interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, the singer and his wife, Cassie, recall that journey from start to finish. As Kelley explains, his Lady A bandmates, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood, started realizing he had a problem with alcohol about five years ago, and even once confronted him about the way alcohol was affecting his behavior towards them.

This is the latest story in our Local 4 Investigation of Erik Jones’ businesses. Bankruptcy documents show the company has 115 rental properties in Rock Island County. It owes the county more than $320,000 in property taxes this year alone. It owes the City of Rock Island about $57,000.

 On Oct. 27, 2018, Audrey Fowler Scully Watkins of Seminary passed away at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg following a prolonged illness. Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Moselle. Brother Brian Dickens will officiate.  Audrey was born to Dorothy Bagley Fowler and Billy Fowler on Jan. 26, 1948, in Cumming, Ga.  Audrey graduated from Forsyth County High School in 1966, where she was a varsity cheerleader.

An Ovett woman was seriously burned and injured when the riding lawnmower she was on overturned on her then ignited dry leaves in a brush pile in front of her residence off Highway 15 South on Saturday. Terry Denton, 62, was airlifted from the scene after volunteers from Glade Fire Department, EMServ Ambulance, the Jones County Sheriff’s Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the call just before 3 p.m.
